The operator OMV (Norge) AS joins ConocoPhillips, Equinor, Aker BP, Lundin, and National Oilwell Varco in the Joint Industry Project (JIP), which is also supported by Voith Turbo and the Research Council of Norway’s “Demo2000” program. The project aims to bring FSubsea’s Omnirise Single-phase Booster to market by 2019. A multiphase version of the product will follow.
This industry project has the potential to deliver improvements in cost and reliability. In addition, flexibility is increased and weight is reduced as several hundred tons of topside structure, hydraulic umbilical and various equipment required to support conventional subsea pumping systems, is virtually eliminated.
OMV is the operator of the Wisting discovery in the Barents Sea. The technology developed in the JIP is highly relevant for a cost effective, safe and sustainable development of fields in this area.
We are excited about OMV joining our project and the possibilities that will arise from this, says Alexander Fuglesang, FSubsea’s CEO.
